Nylon is a high-performance fiber: highly durable, stretchable and lightweight, it allows us to make comfortable and strong headwear. However, it comes at a high environmental cost: it belongs to a family of polymers called polyamides, and like polyester, nylon is made from a non-renewable resource (petroleum) in an energy- and chemical-intensive process that has the advantage of producing high-performance fabrics.
